Amy is frozen, along with her parents, for the 300 year trip to Alpha Centauri. She isn't certain that she wants to leave Earth behind but wants to go with her parents. However, she is awakened 250 years into the journey and finds a space ship much different than it should be. Someone is opening the cryo chambers and letting the people die. Amy, along with Elder, work to solve that mystery and the mystery of why things are as they are on the ship. Elder was born on the ship and is slated to be the next leader of those awake. This was an excellent science fiction story that is part mystery and part dystopia and part romance.
