Shia doesn't want anything to do with the Others who came out after 9/11. Werewolves, vampires and mages scare her spitless. But she is an investigator who needs to save her business, so when a mage comes to her to recover an object from a vampire she has to take the job. Things go wrong almost immediately. The vampire wants to turn her, the mage is murdered, and whoever has the object is out to get her. And, the boyfriend she dumped when she found out he was a were is back in the picture. Good urban fantasy debut.
