Interesting story told in flashbacks about a young girl's attempt to become a Broadway star in 1950. Kit Corrigan has left her home after fighting with her dad and dumping her boyfriend and made her way to New York to try to become a Broadway star. The boyfriend's father offers to help her out in return for a few small favors. He's a lawyer for the Mob and she quickly gets in over her head. Nice story recommended for historical fiction fans.
