Jane Jones is not your typical vampire. She is perpetually sixteen and stuck in her sophomore year of high school. Her parents and younger brother are also vampires. They were turned by neighbors during the Depression. But Jane has an additional problem. She is blood-intolerant - allergic to blood. She lives on a special, very rare and expensive blood. Her father works nights in a factory to pay the rent and the electric bill and buy Jane's expensive blood. They aren't rich; they aren't sparkly. Jane does, however, attract the attention of another teenage vampire and a human boy too. She has to decide if she will take a very expensive cure with the vampire boy and leave her family behind or stay with her family. She also has to find out why her history teacher is doing strange things. Cute and different take on vampires.
