Bryn is trying to settle in as alpha of her own werewolf pack but the other alphas are not happy with a pack with a human alpha and so many female wolves. Especially angry is Shay Macalister who is alpha of an adjoining pack and the brother of Bryn's second in command. He makes a deal with some human psychics and turns an abused beta wolf loose on Bryn's territory. He wants the beta back but, Bryn and her pack want to find a way to keep him because many of them had suffered abuse themselves. The psychics also want the beta and use lots of mind tricks to try to get him. Bryn has to learn more about herself and her pack in order to keep everyone safe.
